I must hang my head in shame because I have let so much time go by without an answering letter since you very kindly wrote me a letter and then a card in late 1985 and mid-1986.
I have been in touch with Joe Lentz who was my tail gunner and who you very graciously wrote me about in 1986. Unfortunately, John P. Warnken, my navigator, has passed away.
I have not yet contacted Bill Miller, my top gunner, but I will write him tonight. Joe has been in contact with him recently and he is well.
I know you wrote to and hear from a lot of people, Will, and you may not remember me. I met you at the Palm Springs convention and to whom you gave the picture of my old airplane "Mi Akin As."
I hope this finds you and your dear wife well. Thank you for your past kindness and for your efforts on my behalf to locate my crew members.
I have moved and my home address is shown below. Also, I can always be contacted at my office.
All the best,
P.S. In answer to your question, no, we were never assigned to any other group but the 44th.
