Dear Mr. Lundy:

I appreciate your concern and effort in locating me. Yes, I am the R. C. Griffith you were looking for and was so sorry to hear that I missed the reunion in San Antonio.

I am truly interested in your 67ths records and would appreciate a copy. I would also like to see the film. I didn't know there was one of the landing. If you happen to know how I could get hold of one, please let me know.

In the meantime, I will write a couple of letters to Tinsman, Clark, and etc.

Let me say again that I certainly appreciate your not giving up on locating me. If everything goes all right, we'll be in Nashville for the next reunion.

Thank you, again. R. C. Griffith

Dear Will:

I received letters from both you and Forrest Clark.

Yes, I joined the "Second Air Division Association," but I won't be able to attend the 44th reunion at Rapid City. I am going to be in Nashville the weekend of the 4th of July if everything works out.

Yes, I remember L. M. Hansen, but didn't know about his crash in Holland.

Thanks for a page out of Jan's book. I am keeping one and attaching it inside my Liberator album.

I haven't contacted any of the other fellows or written to any of them except Forrest as I am not much of a writer or talker. Thanks for everything.

Rocky Griffith

Dear Irene and Will

Received your nice note with Shipdham photograph just before leaving Hawaii. It is a good picture and we appreciate it very much. Meeting this nice lady was a most pleasant surprise. All I remembered was a bunch of happy kids mingling with us and Santa Claus, holding sweets in their caps. The occasion was a highlight of our trip and we thank you for a record of it.

We plan to attend the 44th and 2 AD meetings. Joe W. has not mentioned my being M-Cee, but I guess he will get around to it. Last time I did not know who the guests were until we were on the platform, then I had to find out whole names and titles instead of nick names, etc. With Joe in the driver's seat, I, like you, have learned to wing it. But I'll do anything for the 44th and he knows it.

Looking forward to seeing you at Riverside.

All the best to you both.

Dear Irene and Will:

Received a call from Josephine and information letters from Joe Warth. We are at your disposal and will work with you to make everything turn out okay. Joe should be on his way to recovery by this time.

Received Logbook here and have been thoroughly enjoying it. You are doing a superb job and we are very fortunate to have someone with your talent and ability to do this most important job for us. Thanks.

Have suggested to Joe that Holiday weekends be avoided in setting reunion dates, and that they be held in central U.S., so it will be economical for more to attend. When it is help on either coast, most of attendees are from that area. I read somewhere that some colleges and universities are making their facilities available for such meetings at a very reasonable cost. We estimate it costs $800-900 per person, and this may be a bit steep for some of our people. Consideration might even be given to having reunion two days before or after 2AD reunion to make it convenient for some to attend both (if Joe W. can get over his mad at not being made President of 2 AD Assn).

Had my 77th birthday 4 May and we are all approaching over-the-hill status, so everything should be made as easy and convenient as possible.

We tentatively plan on returning to Honolulu O/A 15 October 1988. ...

Looking forward to seeing and being with you both, and hope this finds both of you fit and well.

All the best,

Bobbie and Griff
